Bay St. Louis Before & After Katrina

Bay St. Louis Before & After Katrina
Originally uploaded by twdbth.

Today, I had thought of posting another topic but realized this morning it was the 2 year anniversary of the Hurricaine.I didn't live on the Mississippi Gulf Coast at the time but 6 hours inland but still like all of the southern states on the Gulf of Mexico it still affected you.
I have so many fond memories of the MS gulf coast the town in this picture was such a quaint town it would remind you of a Thomas Kincaide painting and now for the most part it still has not recovered.

I remember as a child in 1969 when Hurricaine Camille hit taking supplies to the local cotton gin yard to be taken to the coast and until Katrina it was the one by which all others were measured by.I feel even to this day the people of the MS Coast have never gotten the media or govt attention that New Orleans has. Don't get me wrong I love New Orleans too but there were other communties affected just as much that you never hear about. The estimates are that it will take 10 years for this area of the country to fully recover.
I guess on this day I ask that we just all remember all those people who were victims of Katrina and continue to keep them in our thoughts and prayers and pray they are spared another devasting hit by the hurricaines for quite awhile.

A very nice tribute...Thank you for helping me stop and remember how lucky I am. I lived in Florida for 20 years and lived thru Andrew and Charlie...

On another note - I saw one of your fav books was Time Travelers Wife...I loved it too. I wish she would write more books.

Thanks for visiting my blog!
