I am a Floatasmist a fancy name for a beachcomber.lol. Do you wonder what that is? It is someone who walks along the seashore and sees what the waves have delivered to the shore. I didn't know until reading an article in the Oregonian several weeks ago that it had a name but it does.I like seeing what has come to land on the shore knowing that some of it may have come from across the ocean. Here along the Central Oregon coast some of the best places to look or Agate Beach,Surfers Beach below Yaquina Head, Moolack Beach and South Beach in Newport. In Washington Aiki beach in Seattle Neah Bay and Ruby Beach on the Western Olypmpic Penisula.Skye Moody
has written a book on it.
I have found a neat little time waster on the web:Go try it out it on Imaginaton Cubed.

Hi, Yolanda! Thanks for visiting Alaska! :) I just read your article about being a floatasmist. I thought it was called beachcombing! I LOVE to beachcomb. I'm from Oregon, myself, grew up in Netarts and lived on the beach, looking for good stuff. Sadly, we don't have so much here in Juneau because there's too many islands between us and the main ocean....
Hi Yolanda, If I lived by the shore I'm sure I"d be a floatasmist too. When I visit the coastline, walking by the sea is all I want to do. Since I live inland, I turn my attention to different things; I am a bibliophiliac.
Glad you stopped by. Im in Hattiesburg Ms. Been here 13 yrs. Im from Louisiana and moved here with my husbands job. Glad we met and come back to see me anytime.

I shall check out the link things..
take care and I do wish you a very happy day today.. seriously wishing I was in Oregon now.. as opposed to the usual wishing.. it is serious now. really serious.
Very fancy word for beachcomber. lol This shot makes me miss Kauai.
Thanks for the visit..!
I love wandering along beaches, seeing what the tide washed up too. It's fun isn't it..!
Very peaceful idea.
I too am a Floatasmist! When we go to Sunset Beach, I will wake up before the sun comes up, and go over the dune with my metal sand bucket and comb the beach. My husband has to come to the cliff and check on me.
I didn't know we had a title for that. Sounds so professional!
giggle
