The coast is getting it's first storm of the season today with 70 mile an hour winds. Here in the valley we have gotten gusts but not much else yet except rain. I wish I were on the coast to see the storm. We plan at some point this winter to go to the coast during a winter storm and storm watch . I love watching the magnificance of the weather.I took this photo from Ecola Point last winter that is Haystack Rock in the distance.
I have been reading a lot of late and have just finished Consumption by Kevin Patterson. I really enjoyed this book. Please check out my other blog (link in sidebar) for more info.
I am going to look for a part time job tommorrow.
I don't enjoy hunting for jobs and I don't think anyone does but we need the extra money right now. This will be in addition to my full time job as a nurse. I mention it only for this reason. When we moved out here we overextended ourselves and my husband didn't get the job that he needed to get but life often deals you a bad hand sometime and you just have to deal with it but despite all of this and the sacrifices we have made and will continue to make I don't regret moving here. I love the Northwest in a way that is hard to explain to others . The beauty and the landscape feeds my soul the way no other has. I never loved or felt as at home in MS where I have lived most of my life.It says a great deal to me that I will sacrifice and work so hard to stay here because of the love of this place I now call home.
Wish me luck!

This is so unfortunate that you are going to have to look for a part time job on top of a full time job you already have!

You're right, we are in the same boat. I too have to look for work soon but I'm not qualified for anything anymore besides minimum wage jobs. Yikes. If my husband could find full time work that paid a decent living I could stay home, which is my preference. But we do what we need to do.

Like you, I love living in the pacific Northwest and it isn't a small thing to love the area you're in.

I'm wishing you tons of luck!!

Wishing you luck in finding an answer to this dilemma. Stand strong on your conviction that you've found the best place for you & your family to live. You are in such a beautiful area but I know how scary this can be.
Thanks for visiting!

Thanks for visiting and leaving a comment Yolanda..!
Good luck with the job search, I find so many people these days have 2 jobs. You do what you have to do to live the way you want, and it sounds as if it is worth it to you. It won't be forever, and the sacrifice to stay in a place you obviously love so much, will be worth it.

I hope to someday live in the Pacif. NW, or someplace like it! I'm hoping the work will come easy, knowing you've made the right decision to move there, esp when it 'feels' so right.

I always like watching storms brewing- as long as I know they are not going to do big damage.

Good luck job hunting, I agree with Angelina that you will have to work two jobs- I am exhausted after just my one.

I was happy to see you back in my comment section.

Good luck to you!

I so get that. So much.

I hate that you have to work a second job, but I understand - believe you me.

Sending hugs. And I LOVE the photo. I can't wait to get out there and see a storm for myself. I dream about it.

Oh, I understand your love of the Northwest and what you say explains it perfectly: it feeds my soul, too. Your determination to want to stay where you feel at home will be rewarded, I am sure of that. I really admire you for not giving up and doing what feels right, even if it means another job for now. Wishing you LOADS of good luck!!

Good luck on the job hunt! I loved the picture and your description of storms, because I remember seeing those same rocks when I lived in Corvallis and Newport!!

That photo is stunning. I hope you find the perfect part time job that will be a pleasure instead of a chore to go to. But you are working toward what you love...

I have been to Ca a few years ago. Spent a week in Napa and Sonoma. I can understand the pull to be there. It was lovely.

I feel the same about the Northwest as you, but I do miss the Bay Area at times (and not just because all of my family is there). But there is something very special about this place.

Glad you found me from Paula's... glad I found you. Great blog. Neighbor!

Wishing you good luck too! :o)

Beautiful coastal shot...I love the coast. I'm sure I've been there...it also reminds me of area in Brandon/Blayon? Bandon? closer to Roseville if you inland... from there. Anyway, it's also beautiful.

Nice to see you on my blog and thanks for your kind words there.

yolanda, thanks so much for the support you offered to me at my blog. Your words "I love the Northwest in a way that is hard to explain to others . The beauty and the landscape feeds my soul the way no other has" -- I have said the exact same thing many times myself. Wonderful to find another person with a NW interior landscape. :-)

oh, I meant to say too -- beautiful photo and best wishes on your search!

I understand exactly what you mean about our corner of the world. We do often have to make other adjustments in our lives. I hope all works out for you.
