Foggy Morning @Sea Lion Caves

This is a picture of Heceta Head lighthouse keepers house on the Oregon Coast on a foggy wintry day for Sky Watch Friday.
Imagine yourself as a living house. God comes in to rebuild that house. At first, perhaps, you can understand what He is doing. He is getting the drains right and stopping the leaks in the roof and so on; you knew that those jobs needed doing and so you are not surprised. But presently He starts knocking the house about in a way that hurts abominably and does not seem to make any sense. What on earth is He up to? The explanation is that He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of - throwing out a new wing here, putting on an extra floor there, running up towers, making courtyards. You thought you were being made into a decent little cottage: but He is building a palace. He intends to come and live in it Himself.
C. S. Lewis, Mere Christianity

That picture could have been taken around here. No wonder lots of Norwegians emigrated to this area.

beautiful photo! :)

I can hear/feel the discomfort as the hammer is knocking out that old wall and putting in stronger 2x4's, newer drywall, and finishing with a soothingly beautiful Venetian plaster. :)

good post, and so true!!

"He is building quite a different house from the one you thought of..." Isn't that always the truth? Thanks for the reminder to trust the process. We are only limited by our own self imposed limitations.

Great photo. And I love the quote from CS Lewis. I had never read it. I think that CS Lewis wrote my thoughts down on paper--the ones I knew I was thinking, but couldn't state as clearly as he did.

What a reminder of how we view our lives here on earth. How true. There are so many reminders in the Bible that let us know that we are to be a light house to the rest of the world.
It's scarry to think what people would see in my house??
I love CS Lewis.
