Niagara Falls

This is my contribution for Skywatch Friday. It was taken just about two years ago around this time of year at Niagra Falls, NY.This place is still awe inspiring when you visit. It is amazing the sheer volume of water that falls over the falls here. I remember that when you were walking along by the side of it you could almost feel the vibration of the falls thru the ground on your feet.

I also would like to add my contributions to One Single Impression. The topic this week was change.

Glaciers melt
as earth becomes warmer
Planet in crisis.

Walking in the night
Frogs singing their mating call
Springtimes Alarm Clock.

Hope you all have a good weekend.

People say that walking on water is a miracle; but to me, walking peacefully on Earth is the real miracle."Thich Nhat Hanh

Aren't the falls spectacular? I remember the rumble underfoot and how loud it was. Good shot.

This is a stunning photo, and your poems are equally gorgeous. I'm not so far from these falls, so I think I should give them a try on your recommendation!

This is a gorgeous photo of Niagara Falls and your poem is wonderful! Thanks for the link to One Single Impression. I’ve joined the blogroll and plan to share poetry of my own on one (or both) of my blogs … perhaps starting tomorrow at Sacred Ruminations with this first prompt. As always … I love the quote. Thich Nhat Hanh is a favorite of mine.
Hugs and blessings,

That is a gorgeous picture!

And to answer your question: Fairfield Glade is in east Tennessee on the Cumberland Plateau. Nashville is about 116 miles to the west & Knoxville is about 75 miles to the east of us. The closest town is little ole Crossville.

Those frogs are also guaranteed insomnia some nights, grin. I enjoyed these.

The photo is incredible. I have only seen Snoqualmie Falls, taller, but so much smaller and I found it incredible, I can only imagine the wonder of what you saw.

If you have the chance to visit the Falls during the winter, covered in snow and ice..looks like winter wonderland.

Yolanda,

This photo brings wonderful memories! I took my sons to Niagara back in 2001. We did Journey Behind the Falls on the Canadian side, and we actually stood behind the roaring waters. It was ... in a word... awesome.

Thanks for an uplift during this time in my life!
