Gratitude and a Book Giveaway

I first apologize for being away so long but I truly enjoyed my time with my sister , niece and nephew. It restored my soul and for that I am grateful.
My husband and I have been dealing with some things since I returned home ( our marriage is very sound) but some issues that have no easy answers and I just haven't felt like blogging. I still have been visiting all of your blogs and reading them . It seems I go through these phases when I just don't have anything to say.
I have found that during this tough time in my life and our countries that I still have so much to be grateful for .I look at what I do have and know that even though I am not blessed with material things I have much to be thankful for.

I am Thankful for:
1.My marriage -I am married to my best friend and no matter what we always stand up for each other and come out stronger on the other side.
2.My sister and her family-I am grateful that each year we become closer and that she has turned into one of my very best friends.
3.My nieces and nephews-How I love them all and how much joy they bring me.
4.That Sophie was born healthy and happy.
5.I am grateful that I am an American.
6.I am grateful for my animals and the unconditional love they give me.
7.I am grateful that I have a job.
8. I am grateful for books and music and how they soothe my sou.
9. I am grateful for food on the table, a roof over my head and a warm bed to sleep in each night.
10. I am grateful to each of you who visit here . I thank you for making my life a richer , better place.

Melodie Beattie : Gratitude unlocks the fullness of life. It turns what we have into enough, and more. It turns denial into acceptance, chaos into order, confusion into clarity.... It turns problems into gifts, failures into success, the unexpected into perfect timing, and mistakes into important events. Gratitude makes sense of our past, brings peace for today and creates a vision for tomorrow.

In gratitude for each of you who visit here I will be giving away the book THE LACE READER .I read it several weeks ago and really liked it. It will keep you guessing to the very end.I will run the giveaway from today thru Dec 3 to give everyone a chance to enter due to the Holiday.

From Publishers Weekly Starred Review. In Barry's captivating debut, Towner Whitney, a dazed young woman descended from a long line of mind readers and fortune tellers, has survived numerous traumas and returned to her hometown of Salem, Mass., to recover. Any tranquility in her life is short-lived when her beloved great-aunt Eva drowns under circumstances suggesting foul play. Towner's suspicions are taken with a grain of salt given her history of hallucinatory visions and self-harm. The mystery enmeshes local cop John Rafferty, who had left the pressures of big city police work for a quieter life in Salem and now finds himself falling for the enigmatic Towner as he mourns Eva and delves into the history of the eccentric Whitney clan. Barry excels at capturing the feel of smalltown life, and balances action with close looks at the characters' inner worlds. Her pacing and use of different perspectives show tremendous skill and will keep readers captivated all the way through.

May each of you Have a Safe,Happy and Wonderful Thanksgiving.

So glad you had wonderful times with your sister, niece and nephew. I, too, go though times when I simply don't have anything to say.

Your gratitude list jogs me to compose a current one. Happy Thanksgiving!

I've been wanting to read this book since my most recent trip to Salem. I hear it's pretty good.

What a wonderful post! I'm actually a wee bit envious of your relationship with your sister. My one and only sibling makes it very clear that she can barely tolerate me -- because she chooses to focus on our differences. I think we have much in common, but there doesn't seem to be any way to make her aware of her blind spot. It's sad, but I have much to be grateful for, too, and don't dwell on it. Thanks for sharing your grateful list with us! :)

I wish you a wonderful holiday season!

When I learned how to knit, I was very perplexed by the advice to read my stitches to know where I was-especially when knitting lace. Over the years, I've learned to do just that. I can see where I've been and where I'm going, a story told with needles and string.
I've been looking at this book for awhile now, perhaps it's time to read it.
