Round UP
This is from the file labeled (you never know what you might find on a back road).I was watching TV last night on CBS and waiting on the premiere of CSI Miami( I am a forensics nut) and the tail end of The Big Bang Theory was ending and a character on there said that he wished he could see a cattle drive. I actually got to see one (see photo above). This photo was taken as we were driving back to Crater Lake from Klamath Falls , Oregon. You can see in the photo that traffic actually had to stop and let them by. This was a highlight from our trip and one I will never forget although recently we were on a back road outside of town and had to wait for a herd of llamas to clear the road.
Here is some linky love for you:

I want to try this embroidery hoop art here-Each Pretty Penny
If you want to find fairytales to read to your kids or if you just like them yourself-Fairy Tales
If you love to read like I do and want to find good books this is the site-Good Reads
Slow Dance
Have you ever watched kids on a merry-go-round
or listened to the rain slapping the ground?

Ever followed a butterfly’s erratic flight
or gazed at the sun fading into the night?

You better slow down, don’t dance too fast,
Time is short, the music won’t last

Do you run through each day on the fly
When you ask ‘how are you?’ do you hear the reply?
When the day is done do you lie in your bed
with the next hundred chores running through your head?

You better slow down, don’t dance too fast
Time is short, the music won’t last

Ever told your child you will do it tomorrow
and in your haste not seen his sorrow?
When you run so fast to get somewhere
You miss half the fun of getting there.

When you worry and hurry through your day
It’s like an unopened gift thrown away
Life isn’t a race so take it slower
Hear the music before your song is over…

HI Yolanda,

I love this photo; it reminds me of watching bison cross the road in Yellowstone. You just wait. I enjoyed your links, as well. Interesting site.

Nice shot and great memory to go with it. I believe sometimes we are in the right place at the right time and it was meant to be.

Beautiful poem too, it rings very true.

Yoland! It was so great to hear from you (on my blog). And I'm sure you'll enjoy the HOUSE ON MANGO STREET.
And thanks for these links.
And I watched THE BB THEORY and MIAMI last night as well. Which I rarely do. I gotta say the dialogue on TBBT is well written and hilarious!

Well, there are certainly cows near where I live, but I've never seen anything like that. We generally have to stop to wait for a deer or 2 to cross.

I love that poem all over again each time I see it. There is something about witnessing a cattle drive that just suspends the moment...there's no speeding those cows up so you might as well soak it all in and enjoy the moment. As a young girl I used to watch them drive cattle from one ranch to another and it was very interesting.

When did CSI come on? I missed it.. rats.

The rain here has fallen day after day after day after day. No problems for me but just dreary and wet.

My dad got his truck stuck in his yard this week and it took him 2 days to get it unstuck.

Yolanda, it was a pleasure to read this post while enjoying my first cup of coffee. Your cattle drive photo is great. The poem is just what I needed today...I'm always in too much of a hurry. Now off to enjoy some linky love.

is it improper to tell you a secret when we just met? That other guy on the big bang theory, sheldon, the nerdy germaphobe science genius one who lived in texas that they were going there to take back homewith them? thats Sheldon and he is my true soulmate. (cept i am no genius)
However i also love fairytales, cooking in skillets, poetry, and people who share!
So nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by the Treehouse!

Great photo, poem and links! I also love CSI, but can never stay awake to watch the end, lately, due to the time slot... Hope you are keeping well!

Are the words of your poem yours? It is lovely.

I also love the smell of books.

Our dust storm yesterday was the first one that we had ever had.

It's funny, I grew up in the midwest and still have never seen a drive! I love forensics too!
