I found out about this magazine on another blog and it sounds just like the magazine for me. I would love to have a subscription as it sums up my philosophy on life and what I try to to do everyday. Here from the magazine is what basically it's goal is.
Why See the Everyday?
Because our lives are the sum
of each moment and interaction.
Each day we
work, eat ,laugh, teach read , play and remember ...
and work at it all again the next day.
Because within daily rituals
we find opportunity to build
relationships,develop character,find joy
for the price of our time.
Because the most common rituals are manifest plainly in our homes.
It is where we
share, teach,grow , learn,serve, give
our best without praise or fanfare.
So we pay tribute
to fathers and mothers who have sacrificed self
for the good of their children.
That perhaps we might each find
the poetry within life's daily prose.
To all who see the everyday.
This really speaks to me and I would add To all who see the ever day as an ordinary miracle.
The table of contents is divided in sections that could be sections of our daily lives.
eat: Eating together provides a space for listening, sharing and growing.
work: Simple home needs when done together sustain and nurture the whole.
play:All hard work deserves a healthy dose of honest play.
listen:Things made by little hands have marvelous purpose and explanation.
teach : A mother is first of all a teacher.
laugh: At times ,small voices. almost unnoticed bring grand responses.
build: "What lies behind us and what lies before us are small matters compared to what lies within us" Ralph Waldo Emerson.
"Cloaked in their very ordinariness, the prosaic events that truly shape our lives–escape our notice . . . . The infinitely numerous and apparently inconsequential ordinary ones, which taken together, are far more effective and significant.”

Sounds interesting. I am teased by my family for seeing details and it thrills me to no end when God reveals himself in day to day stuff.
Wow -- isn't it nice to have an ah-ha moment like that, when the universe says, see, you aren't alone!
