Decisions

Better Luck THIS Time!

Hey everyone, sorry I have been away for so long but I have been doing a lot of thinking, soul searching and working. It seems to me when I have major decisions to make in my life that I turn inward and contemplate on my choices until I reach a decision. It seems that over the month of Feb. that is what I have been doing. I am back and will continue to post regularly.

In the last post I spoke of the south calling me home and my hubby and I have reached a decision and hopefully by the end of the year we will be going home to either TN,NC,GA,SC, or Ky.The exact place will depend on job opportunities and housing. I love all these states for a variety of reasons. I look forward to maybe being home and able to spend Christmas with my family this year.I hope you will follow me in this year of choice and changes and as we eventually venture back across country.

I still love Oregon with all my heart and this was a bittersweet choice for us as I love living so close to the Ocean and I love the West but in the end family won out. I want to be able to see my sister and her kids and watch them grow up. I want them to know me as an aunt more that just someone they see once a year.I do know that as long as I live Oregon will have a huge part of my heart and I do not regret living here and the lessons I learned here.

I believe that anything that happens in life you can learn from and I have learned so much about myself as a person while living here that I would never have learned had we not made the move here.

I look forward to the year ahead with some fear, much anticipation , and seeking what lies ahead and the lessons to be learned. Here's hoping you will join me on the journey.

If nothing ever changed, there'd be no butterflies.

Dear Yolanda -
I am thrilled that you and your hubby have found peace in your decision and that you will be able to go home. Of course I love knowing you are nearby in Oregon but you can always come back and visit. The coast will call you and you can come. Being near your family is such a precious gift. My prayers go with you through this transition - and I'll follow you every step of the way.

Going home is always nice. When I moved back home I fought it every step of the way, but now that I am home, I am content and happy and I know that the place that was empty for so long is filled and I am content.
Bravo for you, I know God has a perfect place for you.

Of course, we will be with you. That is the wonderful thing about the blogging community. You don't move away from it.

What a wonderful quote you chose. I am going to remember that one.

Good luck with your choices and the moving process. Thanks also for sharing with us some of the wisdom you've gained from sorting out your priorities and having the attitude of 'no regrets' - focusing instead on lessons learned and the good things you've gotten from each place. It's a great way to look at life.

I think it is great you can follow your heart. Mine has always loved the south, but once my husband got locked into a job, insurance, kids etc. we felt pretty stuck here in the heartland. We still hope to head south one of these days!

Sounds like you have been doing lots of soul searching and decision making. I agree with you. Family does come first. I feel so blessed that I moved closer to family and it has helped so much. I look forward to more blog posts as you continue your journey.

I'm much the same. I go inward and seek solitude and quiet. Relocation is a difficult decision and one I "hope" to be making in the next year or so.

Just because you're leaving Oregon, doesn't mean you can't choose to go back one day. It was the right place for you at the time.

I'm looking forward to joining you on your journey!

I'm stealing this fabulous quote for my collection, by the way. *smile*
