First thanks to Infinite Wilderness on Flickr for this photo. I wanted to use a photo to convey the theme for this weeks haiku which is Silence/Calm.Go here for more One Deep Breath.
Here is mine:
Towering evergreen trees
across the valley wreathed in fog.
Calmy awaiting the sunlight
.

I thought it also fit this weeks Sunday Scribbling: Dream Journey

If I could go on a dream journey I would go back in time to the biblical days and be a person in the crowd as Christ spoke . I think that it would be interesting to have gotten to see him when he was alive and here his teaching in person. I would then move forward to the time of the potato famine in Ireland as my ancestors came over from county cork and settled in the new world intermingling with the Cherokee Indians. I would love to get to meet my great, great, great cherokee indian granmother. Then I would travel with the pioneers on the Oregon Trail to settle here in what is now my home that I love so much.

My dream journey if I were planning a present day trip would be to go to Australia to see my friend Helen who lives there and go to New Zealand and then fly to England , France and Italy. I would love to see our friends who live in England and Italy. She is from England and He is from Italy.I would also love to be able to travel to the Galopagos Islands and Hawaii. Maybe someday.

I am content for right now to discover my new home the West Coast. I could proably spend the rest of my life just seeing it. I find treasures at every turn here to discover and explore.

I also found a new blog from a local blogger up in Astoria that I really like:

On a Rainy Night

Yes! Your haiku & picture are perfect! TY for sharing!
You asked on my blog about the small coastal town I lived in. It was Pass Christian(on the other side of the bay from Bay St. Louis. From what I understand it was utterly devestated. The building which, in my era, were the safe havens for evacuees to go to were literally blown away. A true tragedy.

You picked a good shot to go with your haiku. I hope you get your dream trip someday, but until then, enjoy that beautiful state.

So many immense structures are about movement - planes, boats etc. Its great to see massive beings content to not move at all.
