Be the Sunset

No longer satisfied watching the sunset
I feel compelled to stretch fiery fingers of light,
across the universe.
Radiate red and orange brilliance,
Glow and shimmer as diamonds on a watery palette.
Be Amazing.
Be the Sunset.
Guner Nelene Ventresco
Sunset and the Golden Hour have always been my favorite time of day. I love how the hour just before sunset seems to catch everything with a golden light, aura and brilliance that could never be manmade. It is so beautiful along the shorelines where air and water meet.
In the south of my childhood one of my favorite things to do in spring and summer was to go for walks in the fields and garden and feel the dirt between my toes and watch the fireflies dance across the pasture at twilight like a fariries ballroom or the campfires of middle earth. My love of the heavens was born then as I would watch for the moon and stars to appear. It was a time when I could dream of what my life could be and Oddly enough it still is a time for dreams to take flight .It has always been a time of Sacredness for me when I feel closer to my creator. When is yours?
Here is the link to The Mermaids Bookshelf.I hope everyone will come join . Bookworms of the world unite!
I was so sad to hear of Pavarotti's Passing but oh how the heavens must sound with his glorious voice once more.

Yolanda, this is beautiful. My bible study class with Beth Moore said Jesus would return at sunrise. That stayed with me as I anticipate and enjoy each one. I thought your poem was full of beautiful imagery.

Hi Yolanda

I've just been checking out your blog and I feel right at home here. In fact I think we took a photo of the same sea gull on the same fence :)

I love the Oregon coast too and get there as often as I can.

You asked about adding a header to your blog. Here is where I learned how to do it.

Surely the sunset and sunrise have heard his voice, that is why they give such joy.

We call the hour when the light is fading The Blue Hour. May be that's why I love blue so much.

Hi Yolanda,

I love sunsets too.

I can watch the sunrise in the morning from my front garden and from the same place I watch the sun setting in the evening too. How cool is that?

Dawns make me smile. I love the first sunrise of the year. I always stay awake the whole night to watch it. :)

We call this time around sunset the gloaming. We sit outside and watch it most evenings. Definately my favorite time.

This is beautiful! Also my favorite time of the day.

There was a time when all of my neighbors would go camping to Sunset Beach, I had to drag them kicking and screaming to watch the sun set. They never did get it. I felt sad for them.
