Pacific City Sunset

This is for Skywatch Friday. This photo is one of my favorites. I think it depicts the West Coast lifestyle so well with the ocean at sunset and the surfer. I hope you enjoy it.

The heart can think of no devotion
Greater than being shore to the ocean-
Holding the curve of one position,
Counting an endless repetition.
Robert Frost

I love the rugged coastline of the Pacific, very different from the Gulf of Mexico, our nearest beach.

You asked in my blog (my photo was of the Confederate memorial statue and the US and GA flags). I live in SW Georgia, near the borders of Florida and Alabama.

Guess what? I love this. This is a perfect shot. Here at the Norwegian west coast and in the fjords we don`t have many beaches like this.

Yes I like it, it feels like home. We have see all around. Thanks for visiting and your nice comment.

Ah yes, the west coast indeed. You have captured the essence of it here, Yolanda, beautiful.
Surfing is big on the west coast of our island. My son's teacher (over 50) separated her shoulder this summer, surfing! Then went out for one more day just because it was the last day of the trip and you couldn't waste a day surfing!!
The ocean and the beach bring me much contentment. Thank you for reminding me of this.

I love the ocean shots.

This is a lovely (if familiar) shot for me. It certainly DOES capture the essence of "beach life" and the die-hard surfers who stay until the light fades entirely.
Hugs and blessings,

makes me anxious for warmer weather so I can bury my toes in the sand and let the water wash up around my ankles until I can't stand the cold any longer...beautiful picture, lovely poem...happy Friday to you!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. I love your ocean picture.

I live an hour from the coast in Southern California. It's interesting, but when I look out over the ocean, the sun sets toward the upper right hand corner of the picture. Must be because you're further north.

I also viewed the tornado video. Thank you so much for sharing that. It blessed me.

Hi Yolanda. What a beautiful photo and words. I absolutely love the sea its sound. It is so relaxing.
Yolanda is by the way a very common name in Holland, although they write it often with a J in the beginning.

This is lovely. I think that few poets understood both love and nature as Frost did.

Your photo is beautiful and does capture West Coast living perfectly.
