Muddling Through

I am sorry to have been away for so long. I just have felt like I have been walking in quicksand for awhile. I think it is a combination of working a lot ( which I have too financially) and just not being able to get out from under a gray cloud I seem to be under. I think we all go thru periods like that. I would come to the computer to post and just couldn't seem to find the words.

I am also beginning to wonder where summer is.It is not here yet.The past few days it has only been in the 50's and 60's and am am still wearing winter shirts to chase away the chill.I am ready for hot weather and I thought I would never say that coming from the south.

I also have become oddly fascinated with old Law and Order and Criminal Intent episodes. I haven't the foggiest idea why I used to find Goren's character irritating and now I find him oddly fascinating.

I know and have found that even on the grayest of days there is always silver lining to be found. I am going to be an aunt again. My sister is 6 mo pregnant.

This Sunday I am going to try to make aebleskivers. I had been looking for a pan for awhile to make these Danish doughnuts and found one at the Goodwill for 2.00$.I will post photos next week of my results.LOL.

The two books above are what I have recently been reading. Owl Island is set in the Pacific Northwest and is a book about a woman facing the mistakes of her past and coming to terms with them and realizing what she has. It gives excellent descriptions of life in the Northwest though. The other Garden Spells I am about to read. I have heard good things about this book also.

I hope that in the coming week to get around to all your blogs and comment. I have missed you all.

Every day may not be good, but there's something good in every day.

Good to see you post Yolanda although I think it's good to get away from the computer sometimes. I know I should do that more.

I love the quote at the bottom and the books look interesting. Also, that's exciting about your sisters baby on the way. Take care, Carver

Thanks for the reminder.

Hey - I have that book, "Owl Island." I've read only a handfull of pages from it tho.. I really like it. I keep putting it down tho to read other stuff. I need to finish it so I can pass it to my mom, I know she'll like it alot.

Summer is in the South - 95 degrees yesterday. sweltering.

take care and happy Sunday!

"I would come to the computer to post and just couldn't seem to find the words."

I've been struggling with that very same thing for the last little while - it's only in the last week or so I've managed to find some words. They haven't felt as fulfilling as my inspired postings, but it feels good just to be able to post again and not feel so darn empty of words.

I suppose it's a cycle we all go through. We can't always have something to say I guess.

We all go though those ray clouds. They are a part of life, but they DO part! Hang in there.

Don't worry about being absent...it's just one of those times for many of us! I've been away from my posting and reading for what seems like months as well...just starting to get back to it (sort of feels like it's budding as slowly as the flowers since the weather has indeed been so cold!) But Summer is coming...I feel it. ;) hang in there and know that whenever you get back to posting/reading/thinking out loud...we'll be here. ;)

Best of luck making your aebleskivers...sounds interesting and fun (just saying it is fun!)
hope your gray cloud goes away real soon...it's probably weather gloom...the first sign of real summer should fix you right up!

I've been going through that myself--you want to communicate, but you're just not able...I so understand!

The books look good...the doughnuts incredibly tasty...and I love the quote. There is something good to be found in everyday--even if it's as simple as sitting down for a moment and looking into a tree...I love that!

Did you ever make the aebleskivers? I'd love to hear how they turned out.
